1. First Puzzle

The are two ladders leaning against opposite facing walls.  Each ladder reaches from up against the wall down to the corner of the other wall. The first ladder rests at 60 feet vertically up the wall.  The second ladder is 40 feet up the opposite wall.  The question is how high is the intersection at which the ladders meet vertically?

The Adventure Begins

I am very much interested in puzzles,  mainly of a mathematical nature.  I have started this blog to share puzzles I collect and discuss answers with like minded people.  I have yet to decide what my first puzzle but will in the next couple of days.  I hope this blog will allow me broaden my collection and stretch my mind.  So let the fun begin......
